Dedicated to helping community connect to the children and families they serve and provide an emotionally and socially inviting space for children to grow and have fun!

I use behavioral therapies and techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, to provide trainings and consultation for child-care professionals and providers in order to create a healthy behavioral management plan that takes every person into account.

Each teacher, camp counselor and staff member is unique, and so is the way that they approach their behavior management and conflict resolution with the kids they work with. I use a strengths-based perspective to help build off of your team’s existing strengths to guide them in providing the best emotional care.

Lauren Cummins, MSW

Sunshine Children’s Counseling Services offers consultation and trainings for child care providers to help create and support emotionally nurturing environments and behavior management techniques.

I am from St. Petersburg, FL and have my masters in clinical social work from the University of South Florida. I am a registered social work intern and currently work with children and families as a child therapist in a clinical setting. I grew up in recreation centers and camps, and returned to work in those community settings as a camp counselor for several years for various age groups. Learning how to operate in difficult social situations and grow peer relationships is important for children, and environments like school, after school camp, summer camp, or rec centers are fundamental places for this. Together, we can create a fun, nurturing environments for children and their families to grow.

Consultation

Each child and family are unique and may require additional support. I offer consulting with child-care providers to help bridge the gap between the behavioral tools and the application in real world scenarios. With consultation, we can have in-person or zoom meetings to discuss specific cases and how you or your team can apply behavioral techniques or coping skills for interacting and guiding the child and/or their family. Reach out by call or email and we can schedule a consultation meeting about how I can further support you or your team.
